I put water in my windshield wiper fluid reservoir
I ran out of wiper fluid while going on a long drive. I only had water with me so I looked up if it was okay to put water in it and the only thing that it said could go bad is that the water can freeze and damage the pump and reservoir. I live in Southern California so that is not much of a problem. As soon as I put it in and I tried to clean the windshield the water campout very weak. It could not even reach the windshield. I later drained out all the water and filled up the reservoir with O'reillys wiper fluid and now it won't even spray at all. Sometimes when I try it, it drips out of the hood sprayers. Any idea what could be wrong. Is it the pump or the reservoir or both?
Clogged jets is what I was thinking more of also.
Probably go some crap from the bottom of the windscreen fluid reservoir stuck in a line or the jet nozzle.
You can disconnect the lines to the jets and run the pump to see comes out. Or take a fine piece of wire or a wire brush strand (not a scribe!!!) and probe the jet nozzle hole.
