If you have the clunck when you get back on the gas, I found the culprit
On the top of the rear ACE piston there is a bushing where is connects to a bracket. I can now say that it’s the source of my clunk.
I have a clunk when I let off the gas, and I finally decided it’s almost definitely the front output of the transfer case. Lots of slop, and when I bought the rover there was a size difference of whole inches between the set of front tires and rear tires. Guess it looked better that way on the 20” RR wheels they had on it... 🙄
