Default Installing a Traction control in a Disco 1 is possible?

Hello!!!

I have a 1994 Disco I, and as far as I understand, the main improvements from Disco I to Disco II out of the road is that the Disco II has a traction control installed. Since the traction control is based in applying the brakes to the wheel that does not has traction, I think that it could be easy to install a traction control in my car.

What should I do in order to do that? Is the traction control an independent module that I can adapt to my brake pump? or do I have to change the whole brake pump and each wheel sensor? Do I need to install an additional Electronic control Unit?

Comments are welcome!!

Thanks!

installing detroit and/or trutrac lockers should be MUCH cheaper and better.

Yup I agree,

But you would need the DII ECU, ABS Modulator, all the sensors and some how figure out how/ if the new sensors can read the DI hub and make calculate wheel speed etc...

I wouldn't bother.

Plus the SLABS ecu communicates with the Transmission ECU so it can't be done.

my first thought is that it would be way too much trouble and too expensive. If you really want it that bad just sell the d1 and buy a dII.
