I'll probably just try replacing the alternator just to be sure.

Sounds like your regulator is about to go.
I don't remember seeing a voltage gauge going from 14 VT to zero volts.
Usually like 12-14 floating back and forth. if they fall drop from 14-0 every ones light would be flickering

Keep in mind, that the voltage from the main power output is strong and consistent at 14.2-14.4 volts depending on load and RPM. The voltmeter shows there is no change in voltage at the battery of the main output under any of the test environments.


It is only in the warning circuit that the voltage drops out. Again, I am thinking it's the regulator.
