That's a good catch.
If the pins got bent when you cleaned them and then the plug went in-
one would get flattened.

But, if you have the scanner on and can see the O2 sensors oscillating up and down - then no need to take it apart.

It's all good J, your advice in past threads has helped me out immeasurably. I figured it was just a misunderstanding. I do see where a lot of advice is ignored and can see where it would be frustrating.

Got it all back together and it seems to be working fine. The O2 graphs look like they should. Thanks to everyone for their advice.

A recap of what I did:
Replaced both front O2 sensors
Changed the fuse to the emissions stuff
Disconnected the battery while I changed the sensors
Did NOT use dielectric goop this time
Wiped out each connector with a dry Q-tip
Poured a can of Seafoam in and filled up the tank from a different gas station that is off the freeway.

Clear the codes and try again.
Need more operational data.

There are no codes to clear. It works like a charm again.

Default O2 sensor problems...

Hi all

I'm having similar problems with new O2 sensors.

2000 Discovery, with 90,000 miles. I just replaced both upstream O2 sensors with Bosch (black box from Amazon with orange OEM connectors), and then after 15 miles or so I'm now getting the following codes:
P0130
P0150
P1129
P0174
P0171
P1174
P1171

I've checked the connectors and spayed them with contact cleaner, I don't believe they are dirty or getting oily. I can't find any vacuum leaks. Didn't see any wiring issues. Checked fuses and didn't see any bad ones (although I'm not sure which fuse is related to O2).

When I watch the O2 status on a code reader, it is changing, but not by much, seems to stay around .2 for both sensors?

Any ideas?

Lee

Default Bosch from Amazon

I doubt there is a corporate conspiracy at Autozone to sell defective or incorrect parts to everyone who doesn't drive a Ford or Chevy.
Thought I'd pass along, I got my Bosch Black Box sensors locally, but my buddy with a D2 got his from Amazon, had a dead one, went online to "My Orders" and filled out a return product form, and they replaced his sensor the next day, right to his door. The new one worked fine. another user here likes Walker...I've got one coming but haven't tried it yet.
