I see, did you check the heads for warpage while they were out? If not, there may have been a little bit and it didn't sit down on the gasket correctly.
That small of an amount of coolant over a couple weeks is not a huge amount. (if you drive it more than a few miles a week, that is!)

The heads where checked, and well withing spec. I did skip milling and a valve job against my own better judgement. If this is what I get for cheaping out, then so be it. I will gladly fix it again.

You know, if you're going to get someone there with a camera, you may be able to verify coolant in the cylinder by letting it sit for a long time and then checking it. I remember mine would misfire in the morning on first start up and then it would go away for the rest of the day. The coolant would kind of build up in there over night and make it misfire.
Were the heads warped at all? I'm just curious because if not you may want to check the block surface while you have the heads off. If there's no warpage there, it may be worth getting at least that head pressure tested and make sure it's doesn't have a leak in there somewhere.
Good Luck, I hope everything works out for you.
