Its Official!! I bought a 2003 Disco SE7
I found a post a while back that had the VIN range on it, it was when I first signed up with the board... Don't know where it went, I did a search, but didn't come up with anything, i'm sure someone will have that info here!!
I will keep looking for you as well!!

I don't think anyone is trying to SCARE anyone away from Rovers, just wanting people to be informed that there is an alleged fatal problem with the '03's in the alleged VIN range
If I could have found an '03 in my price range a year ago when I was shopping, I would have jumped on it without a clue as to a "possible oil pump fail in a certain VIN range." Good info Kae, thanks for your input, you have a pretty compelling argument, i'm interested to here more feedback from some of the Rover service Guru's.

Congrats on the new rover! As far as I know however, the CEL doesn't come on for service intervals such as oil changes, only emission related problems and the like. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I would go to an auto parts store and get the codes read. Once you do that post them here and someone can help you get sorted out.
