It's official- I bought it.
So been looking around for months and have gotten a lot of advice here.
Bought the 04 S model. 122,000, black, one owner, well maintained, some of the needed mods, nearly new tires. Has a torn seat, would have liked sunroofs and fog lights (suppose the wiring is there already?), need a hitch (most likely already has wiring) but can get that at a yard somewhere. Happy it already has springs and without more things I don't really need that might cause problems.
Think I did alright. Guy was being hounded by the wife to sell, had just bought a couple of new Lexus. I was there at the right time and ready - paid $3200 and am happy with that. Looks to be a well maintained and loved Disco, unlike most of the uncared for trucks I looked at.
Look forward to getting into it more!

It will be easier to park than the Caddy Land Whale. Be sure you download the shop manual, and get started on Mike's high miles service list in the tech area. Great risks include front propshaft that has never been replaced with a fully greasable one (every joint); overheating - temp gauge reads 50% over a very broad range, scanner or Ultra Gauge will give youy the facts.
BTW - a pal of mine had restored one of those convertibles, his wife drove it to the mall, the electric window motor started smoking, and the whole thing burned in just a few minutes.

The Eldo is a great ride, like new, triple white. Have about 18 inches to spare in the garage, it's a big car.
Actually looking forward to getting on the service, sure to have plenty of questions.
Also have an ultragauge in the mail.
Instead of the Ultragauge, I went with an ELM 327 WIFI and an app on my iPhone that hooks up with the OBDII. It reads codes, temps, etc. right on my phone.
$3200 for an 04, sounds like a good deal. Of course you are the only one that needs to think that.
Throw a few pics up here sometime

Thanks all. I'll get some pics up this weekend. The ELM looks cool to, maybe I bought the Ultra Gauge too fast!
