Disagree on the battery. 11.6v can easily be recharged. If it drops below 11v is when you start having trpuble. Recovering a battery. I recharged a battery. Year ago down to 10.6 and it's still being used.

Also pull up your fuse box and check the wires and plugs underneath it.

Luckily, used ECU/BCU/Instrument Cluster are available and quite a bit cheaper than 3k if that turns out to be the issue.

If you mean depressing the inertia switch then yes, I have done that. I have not pulled any plugs yet. been concentrating on things close to the battery. Funny how no one has mentioned the alternator yet. Did I read somewhere that these alternators can't be bench tested? I might have made that up.

Depends on how long this battery has been sitting. If you get a vehicle that was running at 13.4 to 14.1 & you turn it off the battery should hold at 12.5, if it drops below that the battery can’t hold a charge anymore.

11v territory in an LR3 = oh the joys of it’s Can Bus system going INSANE....

If you charge it back up to 100% and it holds it’s voltage = battery is good & move on.

I bought an 04 a year ago the owner jumped backwards when I went to drive it home. It cooked the 150 metal strip fuse, but before it did it killed the alternator as well. Once I replaced the mega 150amp fuse it cranked, but I had zero alternator output.

It could have melted some wires under the hood fuse block, but it would smell awful.

The mega 150A is the metal strip in this picture, correct?

And the battery is good, I had it checked. We can put that to bed.

Mean jumper wire for switch. Don't forget doing basic TS first.

FL1 is metal strip.

Remove connector and jump connector contacts to eliminate switch from system.
