Jumped off truck and did - to + . I already knowi a
Yeah the metal strip = gauge of metal rated at 150amp, the replacements you can get look more like a fuse with writing on it called MEGA Fuse lol.
If the alternator had cooked it would smell. When the guy jumped the 04 backwards it smoked it, and it smelled awful.
As Number9 mentioned it's bypassing the switch completely.
Only time I've ever got that voltage code was from a dead battery or "dying" battery.

Well I never actually jumped it, don't know if that matters but fingers crossed.

" Funny how no one has mentioned the alternator yet."
I remember doing that back in Post #12, I must be writing in Chinese.
And YES you can have the alternator benched tested. It's a very simple process any Napa, AutoZone, etc can do for you for free. Remind them to be sure they put the belt on tight.
RE: Post #19. You mentioned checking fuses, but did you remove/check the relays R9 and R1 PLUS the condition of the fuse box contacts below?
"Engine Fuse Box: Remove Relay R9, look at/smell the contacts of the relay and box. Also check Relay R1. Give them both a lite thump with your finger in case a contact is stuck."

Sorry OverRover, yes you did mention it and I did put my nose right on it. I really think I was in panic mode, I had convinced myself that I had killed my truck and wasn't thinking clearly.
Ok guys, thanks for all of your suggestions. I learned a great deal checking everything y'all mentioned. But it seems that the Rover Gods ( yes capitalized, they do exsist) had mercy on me. I took the battery out and charged it overnight, reinstalled this morning and it fired right up. Only casualty was a the radio. Pulled it and replaced the fuse and I am in business.
I was in panic mode and I appreciate all the help. I have put a lot of work in this truck and I had convinced myself that I had signed it's death certificate, burned up wiring harness, fried every computer etc.
Thanks again,
Frank

No worries, it was easy to tell from your posts you were having an Oh
moment!
I thought for a minute we were going to have to talk you off the ledge.
Just glad you got it sorted without having to spend a ton of money or shed too many tears.
I think you might owe The Rover Gods an animal sacrifice, but if you just nudge a Prius off the road all will be fine.
