Default Just threw a code first time.

Gents- just threw a code while driving, P0308. Cylinder 8 misfire. I was able to read this due to a Ultra Gauge. SES flashed 3 times(yellow and stayed on. Pulled off road, and read code, then cleared it. While I wait for car to cool, anyone want to chime in at what I might be in for? Only recent recent thing done to my D2 was an oil change last week using Rotella 15/40 and a K&N HP 3001 filter. Plugs were changed last year along with installing Maganor 8mm wires.

Could be almost anything.
I wouldnt worry about it unless it comes back or the engine runs really rough.

Thanks Spike. Engine was not running rough at all. I am using Bosch Plat 2's in "Winston". Cool enough to pull plug. A little dirty but not too bad.

Hi,
How many miles on it?

Did you overheat it recently?

Head gaskets replaced ever??

Cylinder #8 is not one you want misfires on.
Close to the coolant jacket.

I would say maybe to do a compression test and let us know the results. But like the others have said it could be anything. I would not start replacing parts with out the compression test. After that we could get you a long list of possible parts that could cause a misfire. Good luck!!!!!

If the same code comes back, try swapping #8 with #6 plug and see if the code moves with the plug, if it doesn't, try the same thing with the wires. It's not unheard of that 1 plug (or wire) can fail.
