It is a "snake oil" for locks of today and it does more harm than good. Those auto store chains also sell fake hood scoops which do absolutely nothing....
Ha! Fair point. Now can someone show me a glob of graphite+moisture?

DIY......Tube of graphite on your surface of choice spread thinly and exposed to a humid environment for a period of time should produce your glob. May want to add a bit of lube to reproduce real lock world.

On a LR ignition switch Tri-Flow would be my #1 choice, but since it can be kinda hard to find depending on your location any lube used lightly on just the key (then rake it in out) should do the trick.
I'll be rebuilding the door lock on my truck this weekend. I plan to use the CRC aerosol silicone lube I have on hand. Tri-Flow, which is PTFE-based (Teflon), looks interesting but I have a lot of different lube products in the garage already.

I love silicone spray, the lube for most things that are stuck. Graphite spray is great also.

That is not a hood scoop it was a pre- hurricane periscope installation!

I have a similar problem but it feels like a tremendous spring pressure preventing the key from pushing in...
