I just replaced the battery in my key fob (03 disco) and now it does not work. Is this something that I have to take to the dealer to program? This is the original key fob and had been working until the battery ran out.

you should be able to change the battery without reprogramming the remote. Make sure that the battery is in right side up. Trust me, I have done worse. Good luck Phil

 

Does the light on the remote come on? Did it come on before replacing the battery?

 

Battery is in right, and yes the light comes on on the remote. It was a very weak light before the bat change and now its strong. I unlocked the truck this evening and when I went to lock it back up it stopped working.
