Well the insurance company is coming today to tow it away. I was really amazed at the value they gave me. I will probably be looking for an older model and now I have a good ide of how these things work.

They are paying me almost twice of what I paid for it.

Question 1: Was it your tire that detreaded and caused the spin, or a chunk in the road?

Question 2 if question 1 was yes, my tire: What brand tires where they? Please don't tell me Treadwrites??

The tread separated from the tire, which caused the spin.

It was not a retread that caused it, the brand was MESA, never heard of them before. It started shaking pretty good right before it let go.

Damn... good to see you made it out ok. Only takes 1 idiot behind you not paying attention to ruin you're day.

Also glad to hear, 'cause so far I love my treadrites but I always have that thought in the back of my mind lol

Now that my beloved beast has been taken away to the auction house.

OK so I am asking for opinions, in the 95 - 03 years what would you guys recommend if you were purchasing a new Rover?
D1 vs D2 ect...
4.0 vs 4.6...
S model?
no sunroofs!!

I think you get the point.

Thanks in advance.
Ron

98-01 (no 03!) D2 4.0... sunroofs are fine look for one that has a CDL shifter, thats already had headgaskets and driveshaft replaced, if not, fine on that hasnt and talk the owner down $2000-3000 range, dump rest of money in solid repairs and upgrades
