Default Loctite on the cam bolt

Is loctite absolutely necessary on the cam bolt if it's torqued correctly? I am about 75% sure that I forgot to loctite the timing gear bolt for the cam when I replaced my timing chain a few months ago. The truck hasn't been on the road much, but I don't want to risk it backing out and destroying any internals. I feel like the answer is yes, but I dread tearing it down again and in the cold no less.

According to the overhaul manual 4th edition loctite is not specified ( no ** denotion):

I didn't put any on mine. granted, my rebuild engine is still on the stand pending some half-decent weather

That makes me really happy to know. I'm not sure why this hit me and panicked me all of the sudden, but it did. Seems like I heard of someone's cam bolt backing out and causing a lot of damage, but that might have been on a cannibal engine.

Thanks, Jeff
