Major 60k Mile Service - Revised
#22
So dumb oil question here.
I was looking for Rotella at Pep Boys today, and they only had the 15w40 in the silver jug and the 5w40 in a blue jug.. T5 is semi synth and T6 is full synth, but its ok to mix the 2?
I'm in Denver and we are having a fairly mild winter so based upon the recs for oil, the blend of the oils mentioned above is what i should be doing?

I've been doing some googling around about the compatibility because frankly I wasn't sure. I didn't see anywhere that outright said "no, don't mix the two", but most people seemed biased against it.
Odd that you couldn't find ATF +4 though. My local Advance Auto and O'Reilley have it. Advance had it in a house brand (Carquest I think); not sure about O'Reilley.

Additional Ideas
I wanted to add my "Do List" that I compiled which gets done ASAP along with the 60k service.
1. Buy an Ultra-gauge
2. Do the In-Line thermo mod
3. Flush the coolant (go to green)
4. Replace the 3 tensioner pulley bearings
5. Replace cap on coolant overflow tank
6. Bypass throttle body heater
7. Replace battery (go to interstate)
8. Replace battery cable ends
9. Do the In-line PCV mod (recent post about this was good)
10. Have a spare key made
11. Do the upgrade for the wiper arms and blades from Lucky 8
12. Pull off those ridiculous running boards if it has them.
13. Pull out those rattling jump seats.
14. Get a few spare clips for the fuel door.
15. Blow out sunroof drains
16. Clean out the blower squirrel cage.
17. Replace gators on Pbrake and trans case levers
18. Fix the headliner if needed.
19. Install steering wheel cover
20. Replace the 2 rubber boots on the ends of the windshield cowl
21. Get a cheap little set of tools that come in those plastic boxes for each vehicle.
