I installed a Continental Elite belt a couple years ago and it failed in under 8000 miles. Flew apart. Crazy.

They may be quiet, and my experience may be a distant outlier, but it's scared the crap out of my son who was away at college with the truck. Happily there is a good Rover shop In Wilmington, NC. They ruled out any other problem that may have caused the belt to fail and installed a new belt. It still cost me a good-sized chunk of change.

Oh, boy, my original was a Goodyear and is now Continental. I wonder if they buggered up the design, I'll see I guess. Is there any chance your son was like me and took it off to use for some kind of beer bonging contraption?

CollieRover thanks for that man, it has been a brutal day at work and that just cracked me up.

Why does the list say DOT 3 when the spec is DOT 4?

Good catch! It's been a long time since I wrote this so I can't tell you exactly why, but certainly a mistake on my part.
