The dealer. You will have to go there with the vehicle and proof of ownership. They will probably have to get the serial number of the back of your unit and then they should able to give it to you. If they are good, it will be free. Call them befoer you go though.

Check out this web site... http://www.elecsys.com/layouts.htm ... It has directions on how to decode the radio and pull the code. I haven't tried it, but it looks like it will work.

Because of the age of your truck, even Rover may not be able to help you, they aren't keeping alot of the old info any longer. Didn't you write it down in your owners manual, did you ever do any work thru warranty where the dealer would have written it in your service manual, do you know who was the selling dealer, they will most likely have it written in the truck sales folder. If not, you are in deep DUH DUH, sorry.

Hey Guys,
I have a simillar issue. I got in my 94 RRC LWB and started her up. I went to turn on the radio and it just says CODE.
I just got it and didn't have a chance to retrieve the code (wasn't high on priority list until today).
I didn't get an owners manual or any of the paperwork on it.
I will pull the deck and look for serial.
I didn't pull the fuse; disconnect the battery or anything it just decided to lock up.

Mine is the A/D/C unit it has a pioneer 6-disc changer in the hatch and the sub.
Here is the info rom my deck:
RTC 7713
Model# KEX910ZVR
FCCID# ADJK003
XH/US
I guess the codes are VIN driven; it has to be the original stereo though.
I ended up going to this site and paying $38 for the code: RADIO-CODE.com
I just submitted my VIN and am waiting for an e-mail with the code.
I will let you know as soon as I get a response.
If it works it will be well worth the money to have it on hand!
Just don't try it until I respond. I know it's just plain weird not having a stereo, but let me test the waters before we give them any more money.
They say that they will respond witin 24 hours...

I read into this a little further and these layouts are to be used with a set of their diagnostic displays.
It tells you where to solder the leads from the sensor to the head unit to retrieve the code.
Again it seams that you also need some hardware to be able to do this.
Yes/No...

I got the code this morning and it was correct. However it would not work. The deck was locked from failed attempts.
I will have to put the key in and turn it to the first click, turn the radio on and wait 1.25 hours; then enter the code.
I found this out from the DEALER who also had the same code as the one I purchased.
So we know that this site is valid and gives good number for original decks.
However; I also got the same number verified by the dealer and some advice for free!
