Exponentially, yes. Simply getting new sleeves put in a block without that existing damage is (last I checked, most likely higher now) around $1700-$2000.

Here are my options, what would the estimated cost be for each one? Are there more options?
1. replace engine (the only engine I found was $1,600 how much more would I need to spend installing it)
2. replace block
3. repair block

Also, where can I get an engine? Im in northern California.

Contact one fo the parts gurus below. they'll get you an engine cheaper probably and can ship.

Virgina: roverguy.net
roverland parts
Paul Grant (google him)
roadsidewerx (Denver)
union jack 4x4 los ángeles (garden grove)
Great Basin rovers(maybe. doesn't hurt to call)

You can also use a 2000-2002 Range Rover 4.6 block, or you can even use a discovery 1/RRC block but I believe the crank position sensor needs to be modified (mounting surface trimmed down). my disco has a 2000 Range Rover block in it.

listen to the folks here. don't even try to repair it. it's a boat anchor now.
