Well if that's the case I would think with a Cooling system pressure Tester and a borescope you should be able to recreate it.
unfortunately there is no water port between the head and block @ the #3 cylinder that I can think of.

This is the exact same scenario that happened after I did the HGs and Irontite except mine was #5.

After a few months, it went away and hasnt come back.

I assume the residual Irontite in the system eventually sealed up the assumed crack in the block enough to not allow overnight seep, but that is just a guess.

That is correct. If it is a crack in the block behind the cylinder I would think the coolant would leak into the oil not into the cylinder above the piston. Need to check oil for milkshake now.

Doesn't have to go into the oil, it would not be uncommon for it to leak into the cylinder. It going to find the path of least resistance.

Yeah I thought about that after i posted.

Update: it's much worse than a misfire now. Coolant in the oil. It had not been overheating so I thought I could make it home from work. Topped off the coolant and hit the road. It began to over heat not far from work so I pulled over and parked it before it got too high.

So I'm thinking now blown gasket and hopefully not a cracked block. Worst case both.

im not suprised it over heated, if you have coolant in your oil it isnt lubricating nor cooling as it should.
I am pretty sure it is a head gasket, but do you think the collant is making from the front or rear of the head just into cylinder #3, as i said the is no water passages in the center of the head.
my fear is you have a cracked cylinder behind the liner, were head gasket ever done before and when.
ps might want to start your own post after 5 or 6 pages most people stop reading.

I saw a 4.0 with 68k on eBay for a thousand yesterday. A bargain.
