I liked your original post Dusty... Although I figured I had only circumcised it, not full on castration.

I just picked up a 99 Disco 2 with 88k miles the other day. Got her towed home because she had a CEL with multiple misfires.

Swapped out plugs, old plugs were ruined by fuel, she'd been running rich. Still getting misfires.
Seafoamed it, same thing... still misfiring.

Ordered a new MAF the same day I bought her and it arrived today. Swapped it out and she's running like a champ now. Very happy with my $1500 purchase.

I got rid of the misfires and stalling by replacing the maf sensor with a cheap Chinese unit from amazon. That one just started acting up, now there is a new Bosch unit on its way. Buy cheap, pay twice.... : )

Impressive find. Mileage. Price. No major problems. Nice!

I ended up buying a Bosch unit from rockauto for 109. I had already the read the stories about cheap mafs on here

well... It does have a massive oil leak from the valve covers, bad brakes and the interior was filthy. Previous owner really slacked on maintenance, but overall she's not going to cost me more than $2500 when all is said and done.

A couple of weeks ago my 04 developed misfires on cyl 1, 3 and 6. Wires and plugs had about 40k on them so it was time to change. I put on new plugs and STI wires and it was running great. Today a P0303 third cylinder misfire showed up. Seems to only happen on a cold start up. I clear the code and it runs great without the code coming back during the entire drive. Next cold startup and the same thing occurs again. Any ideas?

I noticed the coolant reservoir was low also. So I topped off/burped the system. Started the truck and misfire code came back.

Edit: Cleared the code last night and it didn't come back this morning. Coolant appears to be leaking from the reservoir now. I can't see a crack or an obvious leak yet. I could have mistakenly damaged it while crawling all over the engine to replace the wires.

It could be a slow head gasket leak, coolant leaking into the cylinder overnight. Which would explain why it clears up after it been started. Are you getting multipule misfires or the same cylinder coming back? You could rent or borrow a cooling system pressure tester to rule out hose leak

That's what I am thinking now also. Same cylinder code each time P0303, Cylinder #3.
