If you got coolant crud that probably means you have Dexcool... Pink coolant? If so flush and switch to the green stuff.

Should I spring for coils too while I'm doing it, or is it not as bad as everyone says to circle back to those if needed?
on my '04 i had coolant leaking from the throttle body heater gasket. the coolant would run back towards the driver and drip onto the plug for the driver's side front O2 sensor. it caused some corrosion in the O2 sensor plug, which in turn caused rough running and some misfires. i fixed the throttle body heater gasket and cleaned the O2 sensor plug, both male and female ends, and the issues went away.

Pulled the plug/boot. cleaned it up and so far, no misfires. Hopefully the coolant didn't mess up the wire too bad, and I got out of this one cheap. I tightened the bolts (not that they were loose), and will keep an eye on the coolant until I get the kit in Monday. Thanks for all your help guys! What a relief! And yeah, Dave, definitely need the heater up here. Good luck with Flo! Hope you and yours are safe.

No Dexcool. By crud, I just mean the crystallized glycol mess. Like the stuff that makes pilling coolant hoses so fun sometimes.

Good call. I'll check the O2 today. The cylinder 3 bood was definitely effected, effected, but couldn't hurt to take a look at both.
