That'd help alot too. The issue with an A/T design is that its hard rubber chew on off road, but that harder compoundget really hard in low temps and thusnot very grippy on ice and packed snow. Sloppy slush is 32 degrees- no problemo. Really Low temps on hard ice- problem. getting sipes cut effectively makes those A/T blocks more pliable, and adds alot more edges. A snow/Ice rated tire is made of softer rubber and has way more sipes. softer rubber also happens to stick well in the summer and run quietly, but wears faster.
