Default Mystery relays

While taking some photos for the SAI thread I discovered a 15 amp fuse and some relays, they look like aux light relays they were added by previous owner and now do nothing except put a draw on my battery.

Anyone else have these or any ideas ?

Location is to the rear of the fuse box under a black ABS box

Box - looks like it belongs there

Fuse standard 15 amp blade fuse

Relays the small one looks like a standard relay used for aux lighting. Not sure on the larger one.

Ok a little more info the small unit is an

Form C SPDT - A change-over relay switches current from one user to another. Change-over relays are used for switching from the horn to the fanfare, from forward to backward movement of the sliding roof, from opening to closing electrically operated windows and for two-stage users such as fans and some rear window heating systems.

Looks like somewhere along the line my Disco had Aux Lighting, found a switch on the dash for secondary lights and some extra connectors.

Well I wanted some Led's up there once I test the connections time for lighting

It is not putting a draw on your battery if nothing is connected to those circuits.

You could try pulling the fuse i
and the relays and see what happens.

@mln01 that was a good idea but I decided to check for power at the connectors, good news is they are wired AUX light connectors. They are wired correctly in that they only work when the High beams are enabled.

A couple of minutes to pull the grill and test with a multi-meter, now to figure how to mount a Led Light bar and then get one

Test light hooked up by pushing bare wire in to the connector -very high tech

It works !

My aux lights have never worked. I need to add the relays but I’ll check the connector. Cheers.

Take a gander at this info on the aux lights...
