Default Need som info, 94 Discovery

Hi everyone, I'm new to Rovers, and I'm looking at buying a 94 Discovery, 146k miles, 5-spd, v8. Owner states it has a power steering leak and someone told me that they have issues with power steering leaks. Basically, I'm wondering what things I should be looking out for. I'm an ASE certified master tech, so I'm not new to vehicles, just wondering what issues these vehicles known issues are. Thanks in advance everyone!

Power steering leaks are fairly common and can be simple as a bad hose up to a bad pump or gear box. Rovers also have issues with head gaskets. The factory gaskets suck and die young. Had mine replace on my 97 at 111,000 miles because they were starting to leak. Once they're replaced you should be fine since the aftermarket gaskets are higher quality. Valve cover bolts loosen and leak oil. Just need to retorque every 6 months. Immediately after you buy go through the 60k service to make sure the maintenance is current. Check all the electronics at least twice. Make sure every button does what it's supposed to. Window regulators use plastic rollers so they can be a problem. Not tough to replace but can be annoying. Since you're a master technician I can't think of anything that commonly comes up that you shouldn't be able to handle.
