new brakes on 03 disco but still mushy
My 03 disco has extremely mushy brakes and I cant figure it out! Its got new Brakes and rotors and Ive checked the brake fluid. All appear to be fine... The only other thing I can think of is a brake fluid flush. I'm stumped and need help. Anyone have valuable input?
I've also seen people chase vacuum leaks for mushy brakes and they never actually find it. They replace the MC, and do countless bleeds with no change. I saw a D2 come into the LR shop for the same thing once and it took 3 guys looking it over to finally figure it out. The actual intake manifold was loose causing a decent vacuum leak. I've also seen the gasket leak (normally due to someone re-using it).
When I bought my Kalahari she had a mushy brake pedal. Turned out my intake manifold bolts were all loose. Tightened them down and my pedal is perfect. Just something to check. Also if you don't have SAI make sure the vacuum nipple that isn't used has a good vacuum cap over it that isn't leaking.
