With AC off (that is HVAC) then only time fan should come on when truck is running is when coolant gets to 212. But this should not be happensing all the time now. Except in slow traffic or at idle for long periods. Where are you located? Example - crank truck, and in two minutes it should not be at 212. You can plug in a scanner at auto parts store and read temps. Don't trust the gauge, it is way too optomistic. May need to flush radiator.

Obviously I am a noob. HA!

So I started the disco this morning. Sound came on. less than a minute later shut off. Drove it for ten minutes, parked it outside and left it on at the bay doors of the driveline shop. As I was talking to the mechanic the sound came on again while it was idling. Then I pulled it into the shop.

Can you advise me of a better temp gauge to install? Maybe a how to on it as well?

The scanner at the auto parts store is something you purchase or they typically just have one you can use?

Thanks!

A lot of us use the Ultragauge. UltraGauge Automotive Information Center and OBDII Scan Tool

HVAC is typically not used when referring to the AC of a car. At least not in my life experience.

So this ultragauge looks pretty impressive.

The video shows it just being plugged into something...is that the OBDII input? Where is that on the disco? Or is there more to it than being that simple. You would think everyone would have one if it were that easy.

Yes the Ultra-Gauge plugs into the OBDII port under the drivers dash.
