I thought I needed a new manifold front seal near the engine.. ...because the of lower end ticking. .. Told this to the shop here in Eastern Europe. So they loosened up the exhaust manifold around the transmission. That's what it sounds like. I need someone to confirm ..

1) It's a New Noise after leaving the shop
2) I'm in Eastern Europe

. It's a rattling noise, car is in P or N. It's obviously related to the exhaust. Both pairs of sunglasses are missing also. Only When the car left the shop it had this noise, ABS wire removed .. and Tranny was shifting into 40 MPH instead of 30 MPH at 3rd gear. Fixed that with Nanocom Trans reset adaptive values. Now I'm dealing with the noise and trying to get the part here which is impossible.

Could someone please tell me if there will be a bigger problem from happening...

I'm in Eastern Europe and have lost count of the times Iv'e been lied to and extorted (mechanics, electric and water company, almost all service providers) and pathetic attempt extortions setups. I am starting to feel violent impulses because of this. And it's adding stress to my life. I'm American and these people see me as nothing but a target.

The mechanic seemed super nice intelligent really nice guy and a perfect Rover Mechanic to use all the time here. So that makes it more dissapointing.. first the nipple was removed from the GBR drive shaft and put on the table next to me.. ..next I put a coin on the tire and the other guy wants 200 EUR for "testing' and "his time" when the car never moved. Third Car was held by mechanic in Serbia for 69 days. Had to be exported by 70th day or police seize and auction or destory it. The guy holds my car until the last day then deamnds 86,000,00 RSD cash or police will confiscate it and sell it at auction. Says I am lucky he does not charge double. The guy twisted wrires together and changed an air bag. That's all.

These people are poor desperate and need money or just want to steal - and that means it ok to steal especially from me. . Really. They put Icons of the Christian Saints and Jesus Christ on their walls - then they target you you for stealing. I'm not kidding about any of this and can back up all claims.

So they do things like this.. but they have a low IQ for manipulation ,., meaning you can see them coming. But when your in trouble for something urgent (Rover breaks down, heat out in winter, AC broken in summer, need a ride to hospital) that's when they got you . and I'm just getting sick of it.

There was a guy on these forums living in Arad Romania. He was an expert at electronics on Rovers. I think he was the best here. i forgot his screen name. I need to talk to him to see how he adapted to expat life here. It's becoming too much for me.

So yeah in add to stealing the wire .. , sunglasses, it seems they also loosened up my manifold gaskets .. it sounds like it. The noise goes away when the rig heats up. I guess I'm supposed to take it back and pay them $$$$ to tighten it together again, I'm always dealing with this kind of S here. The list is too long to talk about.

I am thinking I am looking at the exhaust shield.. It's a shield they put around the exhaust to prevent brush fires.

Where is the exhaust shield location ?

 

Also to protect vulnerable parts of your car adjacent to the cat.
