Almost every 03 that was in the range is either fixed or dead by now.

Do you see any gold or copper looking flakes in the coolant? Someone may have used a stop leak on it which can and will plug the heater core.

Rather than pulling the front cover and checking the oil pump rings consider doing a pressure check... with a mechanical oil pressure gauge. @ idle and 2000 rpm both cold and warm.

If things look good all around then save yourself the time of taking things apart and putting them back together.

Save the front cover removal for when you want to service the timing chain, etc.
