New Rover Owner
I will check the oil pump and see if it needs to be replaced. I'm hoping that by now with a 145xxx that it will have had most of its problems already and things have more than likely been replaced. The heater core gets no heat at all but I can feel warm coolant in the lines running into the fire wall. I am hoping that its plugged up and not something more sinister. The D2 has full coolant to my knowledge but I have only checked the level when I first bought here last week. Thanks for the info everyone.
Rather than pulling the front cover and checking the oil pump rings consider doing a pressure check... with a mechanical oil pressure gauge. @ idle and 2000 rpm both cold and warm.
If things look good all around then save yourself the time of taking things apart and putting them back together.
Save the front cover removal for when you want to service the timing chain, etc.
