I'm taking everything apart this weekend and were going to set it at TDC. Do I need to do anything other than set these marks up?? I was looking in the rave and this is what I found:
Clean timing chain and gears and gear
locations.
2. Fit key to crankshaft.
3. Temporarily fit gears to camshaft and crankshaft. If necessary, rotate shafts to align timing marks. When aligned correctly, the timing marks will face each other; crankshaft gear timing mark at twelve o'clock position and camshaft gear timing mark at six o'clock position.
4. Remove gears from shafts and fit to timing chain.
5. With timing marks aligned, fit timing chain and gears as an assembly.
6. Restrain the camshaft gear and tighten retaining bolt to 50 Nm (37 lbf.ft).
That pretty much sums it up. Just put the gears on and rotate until the TDC marks line up. Then take the gears off and put on the chain, put the gears back on (making sure the marks still line up) and tighten to the correct torque.

Be sure to install a new front cover gasket and any other gasket you have to take back off. I know you just installed them but after you use them once they flatten out and might not seal the same when you tighten them for the second time. Better to replace a cheap gasket now then have to take it back apart AGAIN down the road.

Yes of course putting all new fluids and gaskets.... I never reuse those gaskets.

I got the oil pan dropped and I hear clink clink then I look in the pan and see that the gear that goes on the crank is broken in two. The timing chain is also completely ripped apart. I also having scoring on the cover for the oil pump gears as well. I probably need a used one now?

I can't see your pictures, but judging from your description, OUCH!! I'll try and open your picture again to see how bad the scoring is, but if you think it's bad enough to replace then it probably is. I would just check E-Bay for a used one. You might as well replace the oil gears and front seal in the new cover also since you don't know the history of it.

I'm happy I was able to point you in the correct direction of your problem, but sorry that it turned out to be way worse then simply re-adjusting the timing mark. Keep us posted

How do you put pictures on this site? Those are links attached to my google + account.

Its quite the OUCH. I'm not sure where I want to go from here because everything needs to be measured and gone through to make sure nothing else ex(main bearing) took that force.

No, because i only pulled the front cover/ oil pan. I left the top part of the motor all intact.
