Can you manually rotate the camshaft at all? (even just a little bit?)

So then the next thing would be to ask if the camshaft will rotate all the way. If it does, I think that indicates a major problem since I believe this is an interference engine.

The cam will not move all the way, it will rotate then stop.

They are an Interference engine, but I still think the valve covers need to come off. I am fuzzy on this but I think the camshaft can still rotate a bit with a bent valve,

Did you line up the timing chain marks when you reassembled the engine?

I can't seem to find a definitive answer on if this is or isn't an interference engine. IF it IS...and you're rotating the cam without the timing chain in place, I wouldn't expect you to be able to do a full rotation as at some point your valves will hit a piston. Also, IF it IS and you didn't line up the crank and cam gears properly, it would explain why it didn't turn over (Valves hit the piston).

Bent valve or not, you shouldn't be rotating a misaligned interference engine. He might be able to be able to see damage with the valve covers off, but pulling the heads is probably the next step.

Starting to look like Im going to have to pull the heads, ehh? Im going to take the valve covers off and take a closer look.

Well...the key question is: Did you line up the timing chain marks when you reassembled the engine? I'd probably try the following first:
  1. Remove valve covers
  2. Remove rocker arms
  3. Align cam and crankshaft gears using the alignment marks, reinstall the timing chain
  4. Reinstall the rocker arms
  5. See if the engine rotates properly using a ratchet or wrench.

@bmeier when you get the valve covers off, you may be able to see if you have a mucked up valve or push rod. Look for a rocker arm that seems high or a push rod that spins freely, kind of depends on how the valve bent. When you pull the the rockers the valves should be fully closed, by the springs. If one is still depressed you have found the problem.

If they are all the same something else is at possibly at play
