Default O2 Sensor stuck

So I need to replace my passenger rear O2 sensor as I am running codes. It's like the damn thing is welded on there. I had the right size wrench on it and everything and when I thought I had it turning, all I had accomplished was that I was beginning to strip the damn thing. Any suggestions?

you can try soaking it with some Pb Blaster, but you have to remember that has been in your exhaust pipe superheated and cooled countless times over the last 8-years. It is not going to want to come out; its pratically brazed in there at this point. Try a GOOD 02 socket and a breaker bar.

Spray it heavilywith PB Blaster, let it soak for several minutes, and try a pipe wrench if it's stripped too bad to get a normal wrench on.

What did you strip? The wrench flats on the sensor or are you spinning the sensor and its going nowhere?

If you are stripping the wrench flats, stop and try penetrating oil as already recommended. Although I never bother with that with O2 sensors.....I go right to heat. That's what typically gets them out. MAPP gas might work, oxycetalyne almost always does the trick.

One of mine was a real pain too...I soaked them all in PB Blaster several times, but for that last one I took the car on a short drive to heat it up and then broke it loose.
