Default OBDII Connector

I just failed my emissions, solely because the ODII plug is damaged and won't stick in the trim piece. It turns out the tabs on it are busted. Has anyone fixed this before? I don't want to have to buy a whole new wiring harness.

That's really a stupid reason to fail. Can't they just grap the socket and plug it in? What if you remove the panel it mounts to, so that it's free-floating?

If it were me, I'd use some silicone to glue it into place from the back side. Semi-permanent, but removable if you need to.

Not an option. Has to be in. I am waiting to hear from the Dealership they are looking to see if they can get one. Fingers crossed!

Are the tabs on the connector broken or the panel that the tabs click into broken? I find the panels are damaged more often than not.

It is the plug, the panel is in good condition. I found a plug hopefully. The crappy part is Illinois requires you to have a shop sign off on it, so hopefully I can get around that and not get charged for such a simple job.

I have a tool that can remove pins, and I am going to try and pop them out to avoid cutting and soldering, although that really won't be that difficult to do.

A harness would not be a problem. Labor replacing it properly would.
Remove/transplant the pins one by one checking they lock well.
