Yeah I have not seen any emails, send one to extinct@extinctmotorsports.com and lets see if that works. You can also click on my username on the forum and select send me an email and that will get to me (I have PM's disabled because the box just fills up so fast.).

I have already responded to every email I received so if you don't have an email from me then no. You can use the contact us form also on either site, or just tell me your order number here and I will look it iup.

Default Temps

Okay here is the scenario.

New top hat motor
New Water pump
New Radiator
Inline Thermostat
no leaks

So for the first 150 or so miles the temps stayed down in the 180’s. The trips were rather short. Land streets and back roads with no trip over 30 minutes.
Then for the next 100 or so miles the temps would fluctuate a lot. It would climb to 210 then drop back to 183. Ambient temp was in the 50’s.
Not sure why it wouldn’t just hold.
Now with temps in the mid 70’s it is climbing to 212 on the highway and averaging 204 at highway speeds.
Something just doesn’t seem right.

Any thoughts?

@DiscoMerlin

Fan and fan clutch, if they are still stock they are not great, engagement is pretty low, But even if they are not stocks sounds like the clutch might be shot.

Next up what highway speeds and is the AC on, AC adds 3 to 8 degrees to running temp almost instantly.

My Disco will sit right at 183- 86 at 50 to 60 mph no AC on the flats, but I have an aggressive fan clutch.

Does it idle all day without overheating? If so you likely have a radiator problem. Are you running with the cap one full turn loose from full tight? Do you have an IR temp thermometer you can verify physical temps with? Check upper radiator hose, drivers side versus passenger side radiator, oil pan, valve covers, and intake manifold discharge pipe.

Fan clutch can have an impact if getting hot at idle, minimal effect at highway speeds. D2 radiator can hold 100 degrees over ambient, ac on, 70 mph, when not pulling a grade or towing significant load.
