which block did you finally choose?

how much for the block? labor to install?

These blocks can be porous, mostly from the back of the block and some on the side, coolant will leak right through.
The ticking noise could have been your rockers and shafts or low oil pressure.

block off another disco, don't know its history, but it was sent out for machine work then pressure tested etc, looked like new.

3600 miles later its great still.

oh, and it was $1900 block + installation.
all the good parts from my old motor went in it.
