that doesnt sound too hard... but after laying on my back under the truck for thirty minutes yesterday with it running, i dont believe its the seal, i think it is a little sensor on the passenger side, above the front diff.. but very close to the crank seal, thats why i thought thats what it was, its a small white piece with a black electrical clip plugged into it and two wires coming out... is that like a pressured or temperature sensor? i know its a pain in the a** to put a wrench on...

First off, does no one have a factory service manual?

The oil pan does not have to come off, the FSM even goes into detail about how to repalce the front crank seal without pulling the pan!

There are two sensors on the front cover. The one that points to the side of the truck is your oil pressure switch. It requires a 15/16" wrench to remove, the other faces forward, it's your camshaft position sensor (CmPS) and it is held to the front cover with an 8 m/m bolt. Either one can leak, but if the oil pressure switch is leaking, fix it NOW!

yeah its the oil pressure switch... 15/16 and the most ridiculous position ever to try and get a wrench on it...

I had to replace my oil PSI switch too, $13 at AutoZone and a 30 min job because you cant turn the wrench but a 1/4 turn at a time.
