Default Oil Drain Plug

Hi guys, I performed a search and didn't find any threads on this issue so I am starting a new one. Has anyone heard of the Fumoto or "Quick Oil Drain Plug"? I have been thinking it may work pretty well as I have heard the MityVac pumps leak when synthetic oil is run through them. DiffLock has a similar product, the "DiffLock Drain Plug", but the Fumoto one looks more substantial. Any other ideas on making oil changes cleaner would be appreciated, I always manage to spill atleast a quart somehow! Thanks!

P.S.-- '04 Disco II, 63k.

Yes a fumoto valve works as advertised but I never saw the need. Get one of those big drain pans from Walmart that stores the used oil too.

You want this kind of oil drain pan, a nice big opening to catch the oil no matter how fast it comes out or which way the wind is blowing.

If you use this kind it just makes a huge mess because it cant drain into the container fast enough.

Make sure you either go to a fast food joint and get a used fryer grease jug and keep reusing it or keep your empty 5 qt oil jugs.
