ORIGINAL: apcollin

did a mix of synthetic/nonsynthetic get in there?
This will have no bearing on how an engine runs.

If your oil light is coming on, then get off the coolant issue and go have your oil pressure tested, cold at idle, cold at 2000 rpms, warm at idle and warm at 2000 rpms. This will mean leaving it in a shop over night.
Get back to us with their findings.

It is in the shop now. They are going to try and see where I am leaking any oil from. They are going to pressure wash the bottom side of my Disco and see what they can find.

Been there since Friday. Hopefully will hear back in a day or so.

Update on this thread...I took a couple of weeks off from here. Because I had to have my engine replaced.

I have found, DO NOT LET YOUR ENGINE RUN OUT OF COOLANT!
If your oil light is on, GET IT TAKEN CARE OF ASAP

I think my engine running out of coolant and overheating caused other problems. After this happened my oil light started coming on. When the oil light was on I had a slight ticking. The slight ticking QUICKLY became a knocking and the car wasn't drivable.

Luckily I was able to get the engine replaced cheaply...I got lucky on this one.

I now keep a constant eye on my temp gauge and am always watching my oil light

That is a hard lesson, sorry to hear about that and I hope others pay attention for their own benefit.
