Oil in my water pump?

the red you are seeing is definitely gasket sealer

I can just imagine how your heart sank when you first saw it and didn't recognize it. But I bet you'll recognize it next time.

No doubt! I was thinking about how I was going to change my head gaskets this weekend.

I agree with Savannah,
The pic of the gasket in the second pic from the left is of my engine and the issue was never the head gasket. The first owner changed the head gaskets but still had oil mixing with the coolant. After we bought the Lando I ripped the engine out and discovered the timing cover gasket was what failed. Now we are doing a complete rebuild because the oil/water mix destroyed the main and rod bearings.
