Oil in my water pump?
I've used gasket sealer that looks exactly like the red in that photo, that would be what I'd think it is. Especialy if it does not just wipe off. It feels a little like hard rubber cement that's dried.
PS: The photos don't seem to be showing anymore. I'm guessing that's why nobody else mentioned gasket sealer.

I can just imagine how your heart sank when you first saw it and didn't recognize it. But I bet you'll recognize it next time.
Never fear: She will have much more for me to tackle.
If oil was coming out of water pump, then oil would also be in coolant or vice versa. As mentioned, coolant pressure tester, and closely examine. There is no oil behind the water pump gasket, but there is behind the front cover gasket. Seems like kit of both gaskets, new oil pump gears, front seal - runs about $110. But budget for a water pump and new fan clutch as well. Exam the timing chain for slop while open. And with oil pan off clean the pickup screen and renew the seal on the pickup tube.
The pic of the gasket in the second pic from the left is of my engine and the issue was never the head gasket. The first owner changed the head gaskets but still had oil mixing with the coolant. After we bought the Lando I ripped the engine out and discovered the timing cover gasket was what failed. Now we are doing a complete rebuild because the oil/water mix destroyed the main and rod bearings.
