Does 53psi at cold idle seem a bit high? 2,200 rpm goes to about 59psi when cold.

Once it warms up (coolant at 196F), the pressure goes down to about 33psi at idle and 52psi at 2,200rpm.

 

when I first start up in the morning I'm around 58-60 PSI. After it gets to 194 I am around 30-35psi and 52psi @ 2200rpm. The lowest I go at idle on hot days stopped in traffic is 18psi and @ 2200rpm I stay around 52psi.

So, yes those numbers seem completely normal to me.

Nice! Did you install new oil pump gears? Were your old ones cracked?

 

Yes, normal for me after recently replacing the broken oil pump on my 03 Disco. Glad to have that oil pressure

 

Mine looked real good and were within spec (according to the rebuild manual). My gasket was leaking coolant into the oil pan.
