Default Oil pressure/temp gauge

Hey everyone. Looking at getting this set up...
Oil Filter Sender Adapter - 3/4 unf-16
Universal Dual Gauge Console Dash Pod
Tinted 7 Color Oil Pressure Gauge
Tinted 7 Color Oil Temperature Gauge

Has anyone done this set up? Has anyone mounted gauges to the dash? A-frame post?

Just looking for ideas for mounting. Pics would be great if you have them.

Looked over a couple older threads but couldn't find much on how people actually mounted these in their discos...

Thanks

I did this exact set up. Do you have additional fuse space in your fuse box or are you going to run a dedicated HOT wire from the engine bay? I ran them on a dedicated hot wire from the engine bay. I put a fuse on each line after I spliced it off the main hot wire. Then you have to run the sensor wire. I grounded them on the drivers side kick panel. I did this on the DI by the way. I put the oil psi on the left side of the main gauge cluster and the oil temp on the right side of the gauge cluster. I didn't want them together on one side because I didn't think it looked good. Plus both wouldn't fit on the left side of the gauge cluster. If you can find the piece that goes on the A pillar and fits correctly let me know.

From the "must read" section at the top of D2 forum (this relates to water temp gauges but the mounting of the gauges and wiring would be similar)

I will probably just run a hot wire straight from the engine bay, put a fuse on it and call it good.

I read somewhere that if you just buy a universal a pillar mount, you can heat it up with a blow dryer until it becomes pliable. Then mount it in the rover and screw it down flush. When it cools, it should be about the same shape as the a pillar and have a good snug fit. I haven't tried it though, so can't tell you much other than that.

@Bkreutz Thanks for the link. I remember seeing that a while back... not sure how I missed it in my search. I think I would like them mounted on the dash instead of the a pillar...

@oilspotLR I'm interested in where you mounted your gauges. Mind posting a pic that I can see? I like the sound of what you did...

No way - it was pretty easy! The texture of the bedliner paint I used covers just about anything so it doesn't require perfection. Of course, I used smaller diameter gauges but it should work for the bigger ones too. You might need to split them and put one on each side.
