Do not make the mistake of buying some other after market shock, with the exception of Bilsteins, or you will not have the ride and control you are looking for.
I already have brand new Bilsteins on the back. Working where I do I was able to do some digging around and found some that were a little over an inch taller than the stock shocks and made for a vehicle slightly heavier.

Curious, what vehicle were they made for, have a part number and are you sure they are an 1" longer?
