Default Opinion on Thule Roof Bars

I just need opinion about these bars I saw for $50. The owner said they were original equipment taken off a D1. I doubt they were original but whatever.

Will they work on a D2? They are listed as 56" x 12" I have to ship them in so I can't just go look at them.

Looks like they're gutter mounted. If thats the case they will work on your D2

I had the Thule 953 (11") towers before I switched to the Baja Rack a few years ago. Here are some pics for your reference. One of the pics show a tape measurement which you can compare with the seller's towers.

Where are you located? I have a set of thule 1050 with 58 inch bars that I'm going to sell. I'd rather not ship, but I may consider it. I can tell you that I would not be selling for $50 though.

Thule are second to none for aftermarket roof bars and only genuine LR roof bars are the DB's but very expensive.

As far as working on a D2, I dunno!

Hi Abran

You've got it eh it's originally a Kiwi expression but it has been around for decades, about 5-6 in fact, in the UK.

No-one is perfect eh Cardiff is in Wales as you know.

Do they use the DB's as an expression in Cardiff ?

It's great to know you've experienced the other side of the 'pond' eh.

yes they do, but as you pointed out it's originally a Kiwi expression, so maybe the Welshman I picked it up from was borrowing from the Kiwi rugby scene.
