Another quick question One of the vent tubes that come up between the firewall and the motor is resting in the motor and melted a bit. I dont remember what it hooks into. Pics enclosed for help

Zoom in on the tube resting on the head

Tube is currently hooked on the hose that goes to the purge valve

I believe, you should have two of those tubes...one goes to the front axle and the other goes to the trans. They are vent tubes.

Yours is only melted? You should be able to trace it down to either the transfer case or the transmission. I think the axle vent is further towards the front of the engine.
The last person who worked on my project truck trapped one of those pipes between the block and the head. And then they were surprised when the head gasket blew...
