Well the POS is destined for the scrap pile!! Had it checked out and the head gasket is blown and they think there's a bad lifter.
$3000 for the head job...sound crazy expensive to me and not sure abou the lifter at the time of our call but will have a price for tomorrow.
At that price it's more then the POS is worth in KBB!

i can hear the crusher now!!!

Thanks all who helped me out...I need to find a scraper who wants a Disco 2!!!

Or spend $75 on a head gasket set, and have the heads machined locally. Check the lifters while it’s apart. Basic tools and time is all you need.

Yeah people over quote HG jobs as soon as they hear or see the name LR. It's just a pushrod V8! Nothing fancy at all. Tear it down, and do like ArmyRover suggested. Or slap in a LS engine and call it a day from Trailhead 4x4 LS Conversion.

It cant just be me........

- Mooseman has never posted on the forums before - just this thread
- The forums are quite literally littered with every bit of information he needs for this issue/concern
- Immediately, first post, trashes the Disco and proclaims "American made trucks and Jeeps this day forward!!" - yet for some reason folks entertain with responses
- I smell a troll to be honest - at a min someone who just needs to be directed to SEARCH and left to fend for himself given the attitude presented

I have no patience or empathy for someone that presents their first impression the way this person did.

True, but we entertain so that we get better information on the history when it goes for sale. BTW Mooseman, I am out of the running to buy - AZ is too far from VA for me. Good luck with the sale.
