Default Passenger Side Head Stuck

Hey all,

I've got a '00 Disco II with some issues. I bought it used as a pet project and I'm hitting a dead end on my first big obstacle.

I'm attempting to remove the passenger side cylinder head. All but 4 of the bolts backed out fine, but the guy from Chicago who had it before me rounded out the bottom four bolts starting with the one in the back heading forward. I managed to grind the heads of the bolts off, but now the cylinder head wont budge.

I can't think of a way to get it off. When I took the intake manifold off it just stuck there for a while after all bolts were removed. (I think due to a decade of crud build up)

Any suggestions on getting this head off?

Wow that had to suck grinding those head bolts off!!! My suggestions would be to re-install the exhaust manifold with a handful of bolts so you have a good surface to hold onto and see if you can pull it off this way. I'm guessing during your grinding you may have blended the steel bolt and aluminum head together at those four points and it just needs some extra umph. Not sure if you have an engine crane but this could also be an option. The four times I've removed these heads they came of very easily but the bolts were not ground.

Good luck!!
