Well this story is done...for now. Replaced parts, bled system (easy), ran engine to temperature. Gauge went where it always does and stayed there. I drove it around and upon return checked for leaks. Still dry. Thank you everyone for all the information you provided. Since it’s a Rover I’m sure I’ll be posting the next malady!
