I have a 2001 land rover disco II w/ 1006,00 miles, my truck has been idling rough on and off when stoped, it dosnt matter if the truck is cold or at driving temp. Once and a while, it will idel rough then the engine lite turns on then right away the truck stops running.I turn her back on and she drives fine and the engine lite dosnt appear till the next time. So far I replaced the ideal air controll, tps censor, and mass flow air sencor.My mechanic sugests that the computer needs to be reprogramed but he cannot do it as he dosnt have the soft ware.Any sugestions would be very helpful.

any codes would be helpful. and that sounds like its ecu related. Dont go replacing wires and plugs next unless you like wasting money

 

No codes, what so ever, that would deffiently be helpful.

 

Might look at crank position sensor.

 

x2 on the crank position sensor going south.
You've already spent more than you should, whats another $65?

 

thanks for the reply, I was leaning towards that or the coil.Hell at this point most of my electronics are new.
