plug wire replacement
Hello Everyone! I went to replace my plug wires today using the write up provided by Deepbluewater. Easy enough and I appreciate the post. However, while replacing my wires number 4 decided to cause some trouble on the coil and the end eventually broke off inside the coil. Has anyone ever had this happen and if so how did you get the end piece our of the coil? If I have to remove the the upper IM then I guess thats what I'll have to do but wanted to check for alternatives first. Also, if I have to remove the upper IM how difficult is that and once you get it off does the coil pack easily come out as well? Thanks!
Removing the upper intake is a piece of cake and takes less than an hour. You'll hate yourself for ever attempting wires without removing it. Half of those posts say it took 4 hours or more to replace wires without removing it, you'll be done sooner and your hands will be bruised less
Part of removing the upper intake is unbolting the coil bracket. Once the intake is off, they'll lift out pretty easily.

Looks like I'm going to have to remove the upper intake. Any directions available? How many bolts, what all needs to be released? Looks like throttle and some other cables need to be disconnected as well.
Directions are in the RAVE shop manual. Start on page 450 of 1529. Versions for with and without secondary air injection. In the section that covers manifolds & exhaust systems. Read over it first, before picking up a wrench.
Savannah Buzz you are the man!!!! I put a screw in and a couple turns later pulled the screw out and there it was on the end of it. Words cant express how happy I was hahahaha. Thanks so much. If our roads ever cross the beer is on me! Good day my friend!
